Bread pudding recipe (with CBD)

Cooking with CBD has become common due to the health benefits associated with it. CBD is infused in various products such as gummies, chocolates, and capsules, and now it is being included in various recipes to make the foods more beneficial to our health and wellness. You can use full-spectrum, isolate, or broad-spectrum CBD in your bread pudding recipe. However, you must be careful to avoid degrading CBD oil's quality and potency levels of CBD oil during preparing the recipe. Some health benefits of either spectrum include reducing pain, anxiety, and stress. This recipe will help you prepare bread pudding and maintain its quality.

How does One Choose the Best CBD to add to my recip?

CBD incorporated in bread pudding can be useful to your health if it’s high-quality. Individuals should consider the following aspects to choosing the best CBD oil;

The Type Of CBD

There are three types of CBD; full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolate. The preference for the type of CBD is determined by personal preference;

Full Spectrum CBD Oil

Full-spectrum CBD oil is manufactured using all the elements of the hemp plant. The common elements of the hemp plant extracts include terpenes, flavonoids, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and cannabidiol (CBD). Various elements found in full-spectrum CBD deliver an entourage effect. The entourage effect is the ability of various elements to provide more health benefits than a single one. But there are various debates regarding the effectiveness of CBD. According to Lachenmeier et al. (2020), THC has psychoactive side effects, unlike other elements that benefit our health and wellness.

Gallily et al. (2018) suggested that THC has anti-inflammatory properties suitable for improving our health by reducing pain and anxiety and improving individual’s state of mind. However, these benefits are yet to be approved by the FDA as they should be used responsibly. According to Freeman et al. (2019), the only approved health benefit of CBD is for treating epilepsy. One can consider adding CBD oil to bread pudding to help in treating epilepsy.

Broad Spectrum

Broad-spectrum CBD is the second dominant type of CBD after full-spectrum CBD oil. However, full-spectrum CBD and broad-spectrum share various similarities as they offer entourage effects. However, broad-spectrum CBD oil has all the elements of the hemp plant except THC. Its users benefit from terpenes, flavonoids, and CBD. Broad-spectrum CBD is the perfect solution for the entourage effect because it is disassociated with THC-related intoxicating side effects. However, the absence of THC shouldn't be a reason for baking with a too broad spectrum. CBD also has side effects when taken inconsiderably, including diarrhea, dizziness, and red eyes.

Isolate CBD is distinct from the full spectrum and broad spectrum. As full-spectrum CBD and broad-spectrum have various elements making, delivering an entourage effect, isolate has a single element (CBD). Isolate CBD is a perfect solution for those evading the side effects of THC and those interested in the health benefits of CBD oil only.

The Lab Results

The COAs report is the most essential part of determining the effectiveness and safety of your CBD oil to add to the bread pudding recipe. Pay attention to two significant parts;

The Purity Levels

The purity levels determine the effectiveness and safety of CBD oil to add to the bread pudding recipe. Contaminated CBD oil is likely to be ineffective due to chemical reactions. Before adding the oil to your mixture, ensure it is void of heavy metals and chemical solvents that might have infiltrated it during processing. Individuals should check on the ingredients of the oil to ensure they are only organic.

Potency Levels

Since some brands post inaccurate potency levels, the users are likely to overdose. However, the FDA has been keen on brands labeling wrong potency levels exposing users to overdosing unknowingly. Therefore, it’s also important to check whether the brand you are getting CBD oil to add to your bread pudding has a clean record with the FDA regarding the safety of its products. Although the FDA accepts potency variance, it shouldn't exceed 10%.

Making bread pudding is easy and healthier when used alongside CBD. The user can benefit from various benefits associated with CBD, such as reducing stress and anxiety and promoting the mental state. But this can only be useful if CBD is of high quality and has correct potency levels. While determining the best CBD oil to add to your bread pudding, check on the lab results and CBD type. Broad-spectrum and full-spectrum CBD are suitable for those targeting the health benefits of other elements such as terpenes and flavonoids. To avoid overdosing, confirm potency levels since some brands post higher concentrations than the actual ones in the products.
